Google maps the highly popular mapping and navigation application by Google has recently launched the Hindi version for Indian users. Google recently announced on its blog that the Google map hindi will be available on the web interface and the mobile apps powered by Android 4.3.
To see the maps in Hindi the user has to change the language preference in the settings to Hindi. Alternatively, one can also select the Hindi option while opening the Google.co.in web page. In the mobile devices the language selection has to be made by going to language menu in the phone’s settings.
Hindi name labels appear directly on the map for cities, localities, important roads etc. It’s just a replica of what the users have been seeing in English. All of it will now be available in Hindi language too.
“Part of providing people with a great map means making sure that the information we display is available in as many languages as possible. Today’s release of Hindi language is our latest endeavor to bring people in India a better experience on Google Maps, and we’ll continue working on providing you with most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps possible,” the blog post said.
